Darglow chosen again by London's premier river cruise company.
What we did:
London’s premier sightseeing river cruse company 'City Cruises' based at Westminster Pier once again choose Darglow to reduce exhaust noise on the River Thames.
City cruise operate 6 large luxury vessels on the river Thames and after the success in reducing exhaust noise to a minimum on their vessel Mayflower Park they asked Darglow again to design and supply a complete exhaust system for M.V. Millennium of London with seats up to 156 passengers.
Fitted with 2 x 400 hp Cummins Main Engines and 2 x 50 hp Perkins Generators the engine room limit space gave Darglows Managing Director bob Doyle a problem but withsome custom made GRP Halyard dual chamber silencers for the main engine and lift silencers and water separation for the gen sets the results were outstanding.
Noise reading taken before the new system was fitted were in excess of 90 Dba on both the main engine and gen sets but after the refit it reduced to approx 65Dba.
