Exporting Darglow Goods Overseas
We have been exporting goods worldwide for over a decade and it is ever growing. Brexit saw additional procedures and policies being put in place by UK Customs which meant that UK businesses now needed to include more information for every shipment leaving the UK boarders. This information included additional contact information, detailed descriptions of each individual item to arrival of EORI number for commercial addresses.
In the light of Brexit, we amended our internal export and import procedures accommodating for the new information requirements and very quickly it was smooth sailing once again!
Buying Darglow products from overseas is easy
From the overseas customers perspective, buying from Darglow is easy with most receiving their custom-made propellers within approx. 2-3 weeks from order.
Instead of paying UK VAT at the current rate of 20%, our overseas customers pay import VAT/duties at the local rate (destination country). Import VAT is collected by the courier on behalf of the country’s government along with a small administrative fee levied by the courier whilst the goods are still in transit.
Flying out a FeatherStream to Bora Bora
Just recently we received an urgent order from one of our existing customers who unfortunately became stranded off the coast of Tahiti, French Polynesia due to a tropical storm.
We received the propeller order on the 5th June and by the 8th June we had manufactured and organised despatch of their replacement FeatherStream propeller. The propeller had to travel over 9526 miles to arrive at destination exactly 2 weeks later!
Two very happy sailors!
