“I’ve had an hour of close maneuvering practice with it and a short 2 hour passage in flat calm conditions so far, so a pretty good test of the basics. My aim was improved handling under power compared with a previous Kiwi prop feathering prop. I asked for a FeatherStream pitched to achieve max RPM.”
“The FeatherStream has immediately proven to have more traction. Top speed is now at or about Hull speed – solid 8kts – and I’ve got stopping power without any increase in prop walk. Early days but I’m delighted so far. The conditions didn’t give chance for much true sailing but the prop is feathering effectively – especially noticeable in the light winds.”
