Dutch built steel 34' on deck and 18,000 lb. displacement

My boat had a Yanmar 3GM30 engine and a 16″ three-blade Paul Luke propeller. It was not really motoring: slow and stopped to a crawl by any ripples or zephyrs. The FeatherStream representative in Ontario recommended the 17″ four-blade FeatherStream, and I replaced the engine with a Yanmar 3YM30.

The results were truly startling. I could now motor at a full knot faster, and the boat could plough through waves and winds while barely slowing. I sail in the US San Juan Islands and the Canadian Gulf Islands, and I used to have to wait out foul tides. Not any more!
