Westerly Storm

Changed our original 2-bladed fixed prop to a 3-bladed FeatherStream, and it’s been a fantastic improvement.

The storm was unpredictable in reverse. I used to dread close-quarter manoeuvring, but frankly, I now enjoy showing off when things are tricky. Major other improvements too, better speed, fuel economy, more push when the wind’s against you. Three blades are smoother too. With two blades, the tiller used to thump each time the blades pass it, but with three, it doesn’t.

Since changing to a FeatherStream, we’ve won a great many coastal races, where before we were mid-fleet. The team at Darglow were a delight to deal with too.

We’re just changing boats again and the new boat comes with a folding two bladed prop. One of my first jobs is changing it to FeatherStream!

Absolutely no regrets at all, the featherstream has done everything Darglow promised us.
